5.3.6.4.4.3. Switching To/From Generic Work Mode

When the controller is in generic mode, any automatic control sequence in CDMA or PIO mode is not executed, so it is the responsibility of the host software to enter and leave generic mode gracefully, performing the transition only when the target NAND Flash device has completed all operations and is in idle state.

Before switching to generic mode, the host should wait for all operations that address the same target Flash device to be finished (check complete flag in the corresponding Status register). To switch from generic mode to CDMA or PIO mode, the software should check for the NAND device polling the run busy signal in the rbn_settings (0x1004) register or executing the read status sequence/read data sequence until device reaches idle state.
