15.5.3. Cross Triggers

The cross trigger subsystem and channel buses in the figure below are highlighted in light blue and can be configured to allow a trigger event to be broadcast and used to trigger events within the debug and trace system.

For example, an ATB synchronization request (SYNCREQ) from FPGA soft logic to the CoreSight Trace System can be issued via one of the FPGA cross trigger inputs (FPGA_CTITRIGIN[7:0]) to the CTI-FPGA and broadcast on the CTM to the CTI-GT to cause the CTI-GT etf_syncreq trigger output to assert which then generates an ATB SYNCREQ to the ETF’s ATB SYNCREQ input.

Note:
  • Triggers must be pulses.
  • The CTMs have more channels to support an increased number of CTIs connected to one CTM.
  • CTIs have an increased number of trigger inputs and outputs.
