13.4.4.4. QoS Generators

QoS generators are logic attached to initiator NIUs on FlexNoC™ to regulate traffic. QoS generators operate in 3 modes:

  • Fixed: All transactions marked with fixed urgency values.
  • Limiter: Backpressures initiators once bandwidth threshold is crossed on the request network. Does not affect urgency.
  • Regulator: Dynamically increase/decrease urgency based on response network bandwidth usage.

The following table shows the QoS generators. This configuration can be modified through the registers.

Table 389.  QoS Generators
Initiator Mode Priority163 Priority064
CCU_IOS Regulator 2 0
DMA_TBU Regulator 1 0
EMAC_TBU Regulator 1 0
IO_TBU Regulator 1 0
SDM_TBU Regulator 2 0
63 Priority1 = high hurry level in regulator mode (that is, 2=Latency critical, 1=Latency sensitive, 0=best effort)
64 Priority0 = low hurry level in regulator mode (that is, 2=Latency critical, 1=Latency sensitive, 0=best effort)
