4.4.2. On-Chip RAM Use Cases

The 512 KB of on-chip RAM is used for two purposes:

  1. The boot software copies initial software (pre-bootloader) from the boot device into the on-chip RAM and executes the initial software by jumping to a known address in the on-chip RAM.
  2. The on-chip RAM also serves as a general-purpose memory that allows for fast access from the fabric.
