2.1.1.1.4. CPRI
The CPRI (Common Public Radio Interface) mode within the GTS PMA/FEC Direct PHY Intel FPGA IP is designed to support advanced communication needs for modern radio base station technologies. The CPRI standard, developed as an open digital interface, facilitates the connection between radio equipment control (REC) and radio equipment (RE). This interface supports configurations with 1, 2, 4, 6, or 8 PMA lanes, offering flexible data throughput to specific application requirements. Upstream CPRI can be implemented with data rates of 24.33024, 12.1651, 10.1376, 9.8304, 6.144, 4.9152, 3.072, 2.4576, and 1.2288 Gbps using the GTS PMA/FEC Direct PHY Intel FPGA IP.
In CPRI mode, the reference clock frequencies for both the transmitter (TX PLL reference clock) and receiver (RX CDR reference clock) vary based on the selected CPRI rate, with options of 122.88, 153.6, or 184.32 MHz. The PMA data width can be configured up to 32 bits.
