8.2.5.2. Parameterizing the Memory-Specific Adapter

All external memory interface (EMIF) IPs within the memory subsystem IP have a memory-specific adapter (MSA) connected to improve performance.

You can configure the MSA by clicking the desired instance and changing settings on the Parameters tab as shown in the figure below.

Note the following points about the MSA:

  • Any MSA connected to EMIF IPs that are used as storage, export the AXI4 subordinate signals to enable user logic to issue commands.
  • Any MSA connected to an EMIF used by a CAM IP, have the AXI4 subordinate connected directly to the CAM IP, meaning that the CAM IP is responsible for issuing the appropriate commands.
