3.1. Memory-Specific Adaptor

The memory-specific adaptor is a soft logic adapter that improves performance throughput by traffic shaping.

The MSA operations include clock domain crossing, width conversion, auto-precharge, read/write scheduling and error reporting.

The MSA can replicate data into multiple copies and cycle around these copies after every read to satisfy DDR timing requirements. It automatically connects with the lookup core logic as needed.

Because the memory-specific adaptor (MSA) connects with memory directly, in order to send a write/read transaction to the memory, you must place it on the MSA AXI-MM interface, the adaptor then sends the transactions to the memory while improving performance.
