The Quartus Prime software generates three simulation scripts during project generation for four different third party simulation tools—Cadence, Synopsys, Aldec, and Mentor.

The simulation scripts reduce the number of files that you need to compile separately before simulating a design. These scripts are located in four separate folders under the <project directory>\<varitation_name>_sim directory, each named after the names of the simulation tools. The example designs also provide equivalent scripts after you run the .tcl script from the project located in the \<variation_name>_example_design\sim directory.
