2.3.5. JTAG Configuration

The JTAG configuration scheme support in an Agilex™ 5 device is similar to the Cyclone® V device. The main difference is the JTAG-chain device configuration uses JTAG pins to configure the Agilex™ 5 device directly with the .sof/.rbf file using the Quartus® Prime software Programmer. Agilex™ 5 devices have dedicated MSEL settings for JTAG.
Note: Cyclone® V device does not support JTAG configuration using .rbf file via the Quartus® Prime Pro Edition software Programmer.
