2.5.1. Issue in pause-based Ethernet MAC flow with certain quanta values

Description

Pause-based MAC flow control not functioning correctly with certain quanta values. The issue occurs when the pause_quanta field present in the SFC Pause frame has value > 16'h0FFF.

Workaround

The below are suggested workarounds:

  • Use PFC instead of SFC
  • Limit the quanta size to <12bit
