3.7.2. GTS Transceiver Bank Name Change between Device Variant

When you migrate from a bigger device variant to a smaller device variant or vice versa, the GTS transceiver bank naming changes for each device variant. For example, in the following table, for the B32A package, the GTS transceiver bank naming changes when moving to a smaller device variant.
  • When you migrate from A5E065B to A5E028B within the same package, the 1C bank naming has now changed to 1B. The 1B bank naming has now changed to 1A.
  • When you migrate from A5E028B to A5E008B within the same package, the 1B bank naming has now changed to 1A.
  • Likewise, on the right side, when you migrate from A5E065B to A5E028B within the same package, the 4B bank naming has now changed to 4A.

Even though the GTS transceiver bank naming changed, these migratable devices contain identical GTS TX/RX and REFCLK pins to support direct migration.

You must take note of the bank name change and specific transceiver pin location by referring to the Agilex™ 5 Device Pin-Out Files and the Consideration Details for Migration Planning section.

However, there are certain pins where the location will change from device-to-device variant and they are called out in the Pre-planning the board Design for Migration Support section, where you need to take note on the migration guide.

Refer to the Consideration Details for Migration Planning section to identify the GTS transceiver bank name change for every migratable device variant across the supported package.
