7.11.8. Use the Picolibc Library

The full newlib library functionality is often unnecessary for embedded systems, and undesirably large for systems needing a minimal RAM footprint. Intel FPGA supports a reduced-functionality reduced-size version of newlib which allows smaller RAM footprints to be achieved.

When using the Board Support Package, you can select the Picolibc library though the BSP setting.

For the latest update about the Picolibc Library, refer to the Picolibc library homepage developed by Keith Packard.
