Metrics Pane
In the Metrics pane, you can analyze metrics information for the selected events. If nothing is selected, Graphics Frame Analyzer displays the total values for the entire frame. If metrics are unavailable for your platform, the Metrics pane is hidden.
In the Metrics pane, you can analyze metrics information for the selected events. When nothing is selected, Graphics Frame Analyzer displays total values for the entire frame. If metrics are unavailable for your platform, the Metrics pane is hidden.
When you experiment with the frame, metrics update immediately to reflect the introduced changes.
To switch between different views, click the corresponding tabs on the Metrics pane:
- Bottlenecks tab - groups all metrics by hardware blocks that are used for geometry rendering or computing processes, and bottlenecks related to these blocks.
To see the bottleneck cause, hints, and related metrics, click the corresponding bottleneck.
Bottlenecks are marked with a colored hot spot icon on the left:
- indicates a primary bottleneck.
- indicates a secondary, or potential, bottleneck.
On the right of the bottleneck name, you can see:
- Total duration of all API calls with this bottleneck, in microseconds.
- Pie chart showing the percentage of time spent on API calls that have this bottleneck in relation to the time spent on all API calls with primary (red) or secondary (orange) bottlenecks.
- Metrics (Selection) tab - displays metrics for the current selection in a table format.
Values are available only for pinned, or subscribed, metrics in order to reduce duration of metrics calculation. The more passes are required for the Subscribed group, the longer it takes to request metrics.
- Metrics (Frame) tab - displays all metrics for the full frame in a table format.
Metric values in this tab do not depend on selected events. Values are available only for pinned, or subscribed, metrics in order to reduce duration of metrics calculation. The more passes are required for the Subscribed group, the longer it takes to request metrics.
You can perform the following actions with metrics in Metrics (Selection) and Metrics (Frame) tabs:
- Filter metrics by typing the required metric name into the Type Filter Expression field.
- Add the most frequently used metrics to the Subscribed groups, or presets, by pinning required metrics in the metrics list. Subscribed group is created when at least one metric is pinned.
By default, there is one Default preset, which you can modify.
To create a new preset:
- Click the Clone to new preset button to copy a current state of the selected preset.
- Type a preset name in the Type new preset name field and click .
- Hover over metrics, pin necessary metrics and unpin ones that you do not need in this preset.
You can Revert changes to the previous applied version if necessary.
NOTE:Your changes are stored even if you do not apply them, and restart Graphics Frame Analyzer. - Click the Apply changes button when the preset is ready.
- You can Delete a preset when you no longer need it.
