2.5.2. Verification

The main way that the testbench ensures that the system is functioning correctly is by checking each byte received against the bytes sent. Each byte is checked to ensure that the byte value is correct and received in the same order that it was sent.

The simulation also checks that the number of bytes received matches the number of bytes sent.

Other checks are performed to provide helpful diagnostics to the user.
