2.3.5. Cascade Input and Datapath Registers for Tensor Mode

The Agilex™ 5 variable precision DSP block supports cascading input from other DSP blocks through the cascade_data_in [63:0] input signals for the DOT product vector modes. The cascade data input function is set statically in each DSP block through the parameter dsp_chain_tensor. The output of the cascading function is a summation of the chain output from the last DSP block with the current DSP block.

The cascade input signals have cascade pipeline registers to improve the FMAX performance of the DSP block cascading path. The overall latency of the cascading result increases linearly for every added DSP block in the cascade chain.
