Performance Metrics Reference
This section lists the metrics that you can analyze using Intel® GPA.
Using these metrics within Intel GPA enables you to “dig deep” into exactly where your game is spending its time within the rendering pipeline on the GPU. Intel GPA helps improve the playability of your game, either by increasing the frame rate or enabling you to add new visual effects.
Depending on your host system, you can get access to different groups of metrics:
Graphics Frame Analyzer provides full set of GPU metrics.
System Analyzer shows CPU, Memory, Power, Media, Graphics API (DirectX* or OpenGL*), and basic GPU metrics. The same metric set is available for the System Analyzer System View except metrics for a target application.
Heads-Up Display and Graphics Trace Analyzer show the selected subset of metrics available in System Analyzer.
For best results when using these metrics, make sure that you are familiar with both the rendering pipeline of Microsoft* DirectX* and the Intel Integrated Graphics Developer’s Guide.
- For the list of supported platforms, see Intel GPA Release Notes.
Some of the metrics described in this chapter may not be available on your particular system configuration.
