2.4. Configuration Bitstream Encryption

Configuration bitstream encryption helps protect the confidentiality of owner data in a configuration bitstream. Bitstream encryption can help prevent the usage of a configuration bitstream in an unauthorized way or on an unauthorized system. Bitstream encryption uses a different key than authentication and is applied on a per-bitstream basis. The SDM provides several technologies to store and protect encryption keys. The SDM also provides the Black Key Provisioning feature to help protect the confidentiality of encryption key confidential during programming of the key.
