4.1.2.4. Optional Software Packages

A software package is source code that you can optionally add to a BSP project to provide additional functionality.

In the Nios® V processor software development environment, a software package typically has the following properties:
  • Not associated with specific hardware.
  • Might have settings that impact its compilation. These settings become part of the BSP settings.
  • Distinct from a library project. A software package is part of the BSP project, not a separate library project.
