6. Debugging Target Software

Intel® Simics® simulator comes with a built-in command line debugger for debugging the target software. The capabilities that Intel® Simics® simulator offers for this purpose go from setup of breakpoints acting over different components in the target device to events to more advanced features such as debugging a piece of software using symbol files. This section describes how to get started with the Intel® Simics® debugger and the most important features supported by Intel® Simics® simulator.
