2.5.4. Waveform Plotting

The simulation allows plotting waveforms for graphical analysis.

To use GUI mode for Mentor modelsim or questasim, Intel recommends that you open the simulator GUI and run “source sim_GUI.do”. You can then add the signals you wish to plot before running the simulation.

To use GUI mode for Synopsys VCS or VCSMX, first run “source sim.sh” as you would for command line execution. Then, type “./simv -gui” to open the simulator GUI. You can then add the signals you wish to plot before running the simulation.
