2.2. Error Message Queue

When the on-chip EDC circuitry detects an SEU error, the Agilex™ 5 device stores the error information in the error message queue. Each error message records the sector address, type, and location of the error.

The error message queue can store up to eight different messages. When the error message queue has more than eight different messages, the Quartus® Prime System Message window warns you that the message queue is full. Click Read EMR of the Quartus® Prime Fault Injection Debugger tool to display and clear the error message queue.

You can retrieve the error message queue contents in several ways:

  • Quartus® Prime Fault Injection Debugger tool
  • Advanced SEU Detection Intel® FPGA IP
  • Mailbox command
  • Hard processor system (HPS) SDM mailbox
