3.4. Ethernet Toolkit Subsystem Support

Ethernet Toolkit support for the Ethernet Subsystem Intel FPGA IP is added from Quartus® Prime Pro Edition software release 23.3 onwards.

The Ethernet Toolkit supports the same features for the Ethernet Subsystem Intel FPGA IP as described in Ethernet Toolkit Groups and Tabs section. Currently the Ethernet Toolkit only supports the Ethernet Subsystem Intel FPGA IP example designs.

The Ethernet Toolkit gets detected by the name eth_ss_toolkit for the Ethernet Subsystem Intel FPGA IP example design as shown in following figure.

The Ethernet Toolkit for the E-Tile and F-Tile Ethernet Subsystems is the same. A tab with the tile name is displayed in the collection window based on the tile for which you generated the design. There is only one instance of the Ethernet Toolkit for the Ethernet Subsystem design and there is a drop-down menu option to select the different port numbers as shown in the following figure.

If you enable dynamic configuration in the design you must switch between the profiles in your design manually as described in the F-Tile Dynamic Reconfiguration Suite Intel FPGA IP User Guide and then close the Ethernet Toolkit collection and re-open to access the reconfigured profile information. The Ethernet Toolkit is the same if your design enables or disables a combination of dynamically reconfigured ports.
Note: The Ethernet Toolkit support for F-Tile Ethernet Subsystems which contain dynamically reconfigurable ports is Early Access and not full production quality.
