Power States
Intel® Dynamic Application Loader (Intel® DAL) is an M0-only module and has no resume support. This means that:
- Intel DAL operates only in M0. In any other state it is deactivated.
- Upon a system exit from Sx state, including S3, the module is re-initialized and no memory content is assumed to persist from the previous M0 operation.
On newer platforms, the user does not need to reinstall applets after Sx power transitions (including system initialization). These platforms include:
- Intel® Management Engine (Intel® ME) 11.0 and later
- Intel® Trusted Execution Engine (Intel® TXE) 3.x/4.x and later
When transitioning out of M0, all sessions are closed and their session state is lost. Connected Standby, however, does not affect the trusted application state. When returning to M0 the trusted applications need to again register with the Intel® DAL Host Interface Service event.
Note: Upon resuming from Sx, the Intel DAL Host Interface Service may become unavailable for a few seconds, depending on the platform or OS. For this reason, an application should implement a wait or retry mechanism.
Note: On the following platforms, the user needs to reinstall applets after Sx power transitions: • Intel ME 10.x and older • Intel TXE 1.x/2.x
