How to resolve the “Invalid Configuration Data” error message when running Intel® DSA
Description
When scanning Intel® DSA, an error message appears: Invalid configuration data. Please click "Refresh Results" to try again.
Resolution
In order to resolve the issue:
- Wait 30 minutes, then try Refresh Results again.
- Restart the Operating System and try Refresh Results again.
If the recommendation above does not resolve the issue, try to do the following below:
- Uninstall Intel® Driver & Support Assistant
- Open a new tab on a web browser (Firefox, Chrome, or Edge.).
- Download and run the Intel® Driver & Support Assistant Uninstaller.
- Accept the terms & conditions.
- Click on Next.
- Click on Close.
- Check Windows Integrity
- After uninstalling Intel® Driver & Support Assistant, open Command Prompt or CMD as Administrator.
- Type in the command DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth and let the command finish.
- After DISM command is finished, type the command sfc /scannow and let the command finish.
- Once the commands are done you may proceed to reboot the computer.
- Install Intel® Driver & Support Assistant after reboot
- Download and save locally on your device.
- Double-click Intel® Driver & Support Assistant Installer.exe file.
- Read and agree to the license terms and conditions.
- Select Install.
- Reboot your computer (Do not start the application yet).
- Set the Intel® Driver & Support Assistant Updater service to Automatic
- After rebooting the system, in Windows* Search, type Services and scroll to find Intel® Driver & Support Assistant Updater.
- Right Click and select properties.
- Under Startup, type change it to Automatic (this is set to Manual after installation).
- Click Apply.
- Open Intel® Driver & Support Assistant.
