Resolution

Setup Fail error message shows up when trying to install the latest version of Intel® XTU.

There are two versions of Intel® XTU available for download:

  • Intel® XTU version 7.14.2.14: supports unlocked Intel® Core™ processors (14th gen) and older processors.
  • Intel® XTU version 10.0 or newer: supports unlocked Intel® Core™ Ultra Processors (Series 2)

Follow the steps below to resolve the issue:

  1. Make sure your processor is supported by Intel® XTU and is showing in up in the This download is valid for the product listed below  section on the download center page.
  2. Find the right version of Intel® XTU that supports your processor, and download it. Example: A system with an i5-13600K processor will require the installation of the latest Intel® XTU version 7.x. When attempting to install Intel® XTU 10.x version on the same system, an error will occur (as indicated above).

Intel® XTU should install without issues if you have aligned the version number to the supported processor.
