Intel® NUC Hangs, Mouse Still Moves

Description

  • Intel® NUC hangs up to several times per day.
  • Only the cursor moves on the screen with the mouse movement.
  • The machine is unresponsive and the only recovery path is to reboot the machine.

Resolution

Some items that may resolve the issue.

  • Update the BIOS to latest version.
  • Re-Install the OS.
  • Install Intel DSA and update the drivers.
  • Run Windows update.
  • Try using a different SSD.
  • Try using different memory.
  • Plug the webcam, keyboard, and mouse dongle directly into the NUC and not using the monitor’s USB hub capability.
