Error: “Failed to Create Plugin libclDNNPlugin.so” Using GPU as Target Device

Environment

Ubuntu 18.04.x long-term support (LTS), 64-bit

Description

  • Ran security_barrier_camera_demo with GPU Plugin.
  • Encountered error:

    [ ERROR ] Failed to create plugin /opt/intel/openvino_2021.4.689/deployment_tools/inference_engine/lib/intel64/libclDNNPlugin.so for device GPU

    Please, check your environment

    [CLDNN ERROR]. clGetPlatformIDs error -1001

Resolution

The error might have occurred due to some issues with OpenCL* runtime on the host machine.
