As part of the server building process, it's important to find the lot code for CPU traceability. Where is this information located?
The lot identification code for CPU traceability can be found on the package carrier and on the exterior of the box in which the unit is shipped. Also, it is marked on a surface that is visible after the socket is mounted on the motherboard with the bolster plate assembled and PNP cap installed.
The lot number, also referred to as the FPO number, and known by Intel as the batch number, is shared by many processors and thus is not unique to each individual unit. In contrast, the ATPO functions similarly to a serial number, providing a unique identifier for each processor.
