Summary

Information on date code and lot code of Intel® Processors

Description

As part of the server building process, it's important to find the lot code for CPU traceability. Where is this information located?

Resolution

Lot number is also called the FPO number, and Intel also refers to it as a batch number. Many processors can come from the same FPO/lot number so they are not unique with each other.

The ATPO is like a serial number and is a unique number between processors.

For the date code of boxed processors, it is recommended to use the Intel Warranty Checker and take the Estimated Warranty Expiration date and subtract three years to get a rough idea of when the processor was manufactured.

If it is a tray processor, customers should contact their Point of Purchase.
