How to configure your Tri-mode Intel® RAID Controller to support up to 240 SAS/SATA drives.
Full featured Tri-mode Intel® RAID Controllers (RMSP3/RSP3 families) cannot detect more than 64 SAS/SATA drives.
The maximum number of SAS/SATA drives supported on a full featured Tri-mode Intel® RAID Controller depends on the profile setting.
You can change the profile from the UEFI HII Configuration Utility using the steps below:
- After the Intel® RAID Controller and the drives are installed, restart the server and press F2 to open the UEFI menu. Follow these steps:
- Advanced
- PCI configuration
- UEFI option ROM control
- Under the Storage Controller section, choose the Intel® RAID Controller. Then navigate the menu in the following order:
- Main Menu
- Controller Management
- Advanced Controller Management
- Manage Controller Profiles
- Choose the desired profile, for example profile#12, to support up to 240 SAS/SATA drives for RAID.
