How do I Resolve Unexpected System Behaviors on my Intel® Server Board S2600CW Family?
What am I seeing?
I'm encountering an unexpected system behavior on my Intel® Server Board S2600CW Family from:
- Noisy fans
- Unexpected reboots or shutdowns
- Errors during OS installation
- Front Panel LEDs flashing or blinking amber
- Other issues
Environment
- Intel® Server Board S2600CW Family: S2600CW2R, S2600CW2SR, S2600CWTR, S2600CWTSR, S2600CW2, S2600CW2S, S2600CWT, S2600CWTS
- Intel® Server Chassis P4304XXMUXX, P4304XXMFEN2, or compatible third-party chassis
Note | This symptom may also happen on other Intel® Server Boards. |
How to fix it
- First of all, ensure that firmware for all basic onboard components (BIOS, BMC, ME, FRUSDR) is updated to latest available versions from this package or its Intel® One Boot Flash Update (Intel® OFU) version. See the versions listed in the download record description.
- In order to check firmware version for the components mentioned, follow these instructions:
- Press F2 during boot when the logo screen first displays.
-
Under the Main tab, you see the BIOS version listed.
Note 01.01.2024 is considered an old BIOS firmware version and needs to be updated. -
Under Server Management—>System Information, you see other firmware versions listed.
- If your mainboard firmware versions are lower than the ones from the latest available firmware update package:
- Download this package.
- Review the step-by-step instructions and demo on how to run the update for your Intel® Server Board S2600CW Family under UEFI Shell environment.
- If after you perform the above steps an issue still occurs, use the Troubleshooting Intel® Server System boot issues wizard to identify and isolate problems with the setup or configuration of the system.
