Troubleshooting the "Firmware Failed Validation!!!" POST message
Description
System crashes. Upon reboot, during Power-on self-test (POST), the following message shows up:
"RAID Adapter
Firmware Failed Validation!!!
Adapter needs to be reflashed.
Press Any Key to Continue..."

If you try to update the firmware, a message indicates that the image file has an older version or the same version. |
Resolution
Update the Intel® RAID Controller firmware (or reflash if the controller already has the latest firmware), and then power-cycle the server as follows:
- Download the latest firmware for your controller.
- Update the controller firmware.
Note If the controller already has the latest firmware, use the following command to force a firmware reflash:
storcli.efi /c0 download file=..\..\..\xxxx.rom noverchk - Turn it off.
- Unplug the power cord(s).
- After waiting for at least 2 minutes, plug the power cords again.
- Power the system back on.
