Intel® Optane™ memory is a system acceleration solution that uses Intel® Optane™ technology, based on Intel® Optane™ memory media. It includes the Intel® Rapid Storage Technology (Intel® RST) driver.

The Quick Start Guide aids you in the setup process for system acceleration with Intel Optane memory and includes information on:

System requirements
Installation of the Intel Optane memory module
Download location and Installation of the Intel Optane memory application
System acceleration enabling through the Intel Optane memory user interface

Note

System acceleration is available for SATA-based storage devices (HDD, SSHD, or SATA SSD) and Intel® SSD 660p Series (With drivers 17.5.2.1024 or later) only.
With the latest Intel Optane memory and Intel Rapid Storage Technology (Intel RST) applications (Version 16.x or later), the Secondary/Data drive can be accelerated with Intel Optane memory modules. See Software and Platform Support for Intel® Optane™ Memory for complete details on which processor/chipsets support this capability
- An update to the System BIOS may be required to upgrade the Intel® RST Pre-OS UEFI Driver version to 16.x or later. Consult your motherboard vendor for the proper system BIOS version for this support.
All additional system requirements and BIOS settings are the same as noted in the guide above.
