5.3. Step 3: Instantiate the Packaged Subsystem

To instantiate the dp_subsys packaged subsystem from Platform Designer's IP Catalog, follow these steps:
  1. Ensure that the packaged subsystem .qcp is in the packaged subsystem user's IP search path, such as the default <project_directory>/ip/packages/dp_subsys.qcp path.
  2. In Platform Designer, click File > Refresh System to ensure that IP Catalog displays the latest IP and packaged subsystems in the IP search path. The dp_subsys packaged subsystem should now appear under Project in the IP Catalog.

  3. In IP Catalog, double-click the dp_subsys packaged subsystem under Project. Turn on the RX parameter and change the HDL entity name to dp_rx_subsys in the parameter editor.

  4. Click Finish. The packaged subsystem appears instantiated in the System View as a single component.

    Note that all the component details are collapsed, showing no connection nor exported interface details.

  5. Repeat steps 1-4 in this procedure to instantiate another instance of the dp_subsys packaged subsystem. For this instance turn on the TX parameter and name this instance dp_tx_subsys.
