3. Packaged Subsystems Overview

The Platform Designer system integration tool provides a method to create and share subsystems by packaging all or a subset of a given system into a single portable .qcp file. You or another user can then instantiate this packaged subsystem into another system to comprise the complete or partial system. This packaged subsystem flow simplifies the reuse and sharing of subsystems across multiple projects or designers.

The packaged subsystem automatically bundles the required files of the pre-validated system into a single compressed file that specifies the visible and editable properties of the packaged subsystem for the packaged subsystem user. The packaged subsystem author can then share the packaged subsystem .qcp file with other packaged subsystem users for instantiation and connection in other Platform Designer systems.
