You need to perform the following setting when handling a Nios® V procesor hierarchical system.
Table 18.  Handling Hierarchical Systems
Hierarchical System Description Action
Reset memory in lower-level subsystems.

(Connected through a bridge to the Nios® V processor in a top or higher-level subsystem)

Reset memory is not visible to the Nios® V processor in higher-level subsystem, prompting errors during linker map validation.
Note: The reset memory affects packaged subsystems and composed components only.
  • Apply Absolute as Reset Agent.
  • Specify the exact offset to the reset memory as Reset Offset (from the System View of the Nios® V processor).
Reset memory in top or higher-level subsystem.

(Connected through a bridge to the Nios® V processor in lower-level subsystem)

  • Reset memory is not visible to the Nios® V processor, prompting errors during linker map validation.
  • Nios® V processor does not support this hierarchical system.
Note: The reset memory affects packaged subsystem and composed component only.
Implement reset memory in the following subsystems:
  • Lower-level subsystems
  • Within the same subsystems as the processor
