2.8.8. Setting Floating-Point Bus Formats

Signal Tap logic analyzer supports both the display and setting of trigger definition based on floating-point encoding.

  1. Set a Signal Tap bus to be floating-point encoded by selecting a bus that is appropriately sized (16, 32, or 64 bits) in the Signal Tap Data tab, then right click Bus Display Format > Floating point > <floating-point format> .

  2. Find specific encoded values within a capture by selecting the bus, setting the radix to the proper format, then entering the desired value.

  3. Set trigger points based upon floating point values by selecting the bus in the Signal Tap Setup tab, right click the Trigger Conditions value and inserting the desired value and condition.
