4.3.11.6.2. Accessing Debug Module Interface

Altera recommends you to utilize the OpenOCD executables along with the RISC-V Debug Configuration, Authentication, and DMI commands to access the Debug Module. They offer abstraction to the JTAG DTM, which reduces complexity and improve efficiency during Debug Module access.

If you are developing a custom Debug Translator, please refer to subchapter B.1 Debug Module Interface Access in RISC-V Debug Specification 0.13.2, with JTAG DTM.
