2.1.3.5. Pulse Fitting Analysis
Click Pulse Fitting Calc or select Pulse Fitting Analysis from the Analysis pull-down menu to perform FIR and pulse fitting and analysis. The fitting and analysis are implemented according to IEEE 802.3bj and OIF CEI 56G standards. The transmitter fitting results provide an indication of effective emphasis level that was observed at transmitter and channel output. The fitted pulse is shown so that you can observe the fit quality as well as the possible impedance discontinuity locations in your link. For supported transmitter devices, such as embedded models, the pulse fitting engine can calculate and display pre- and post-equalized fitted pulses.
Figure 40. Pulse Fitting Analysis Example
Pulse fitting analysis can be customized to suit specific transmitter configurations. See the "TX Analysis" section of Transmitter Options and Analysis Functions and Pre-Simulation and Pre-Analysis Checklist for details.
