2.8. Stand-Alone Programmer and Tools
The free Stand-Alone Programmer and Tools is available and has the same full functionality as the Quartus® Prime Programmer.
The Stand-Alone Programmer is useful when programming devices on a workstation that does not have an Quartus® Prime software license. The Stand-Alone Programmer does not require a separate Quartus® Prime software license. Download the Stand-Alone Programmer from the Download Center on the Intel website.
The current version of the Stand-Alone Programmer also includes the following tools to facilitate device programming:
- Logic Analyzer Interface Editor (quartus_lai.exe)—allows you to multiplex a large number of nodes to an external logic analyzer via a limited number of pins.
- In-System Sources and Probes Editor (quartus_issp.exe)—allows you to read data from and write data to the design.
- In-system Memory Content Editor (quartus_ismce.exe)—allows you to read data from and write data to in-system memory in devices during runtime and independently of system clocks.
