Suppression Rule Reach in the GUI

When you define a suppression rule using the Intel InspectorCreate Suppression dialog box, the Intel Inspector marks all result data on the Summary window that is potentially impacted by the rule. For example:


Changing states example-Start

Example 1

Suppress Problem 1 by creating a suppression rule based on Code Location 1.

Intel Inspector responds by marking anything that touches Problem 1:

  • Code Location 1

  • Code Location 2

  • Problem Set 1

Example 2

Suppress Problem 1 by creating a suppression rule based on Code Location 2. Code Location 2 is also part of Problem 2.

Intel Inspector responds by marking anything that touches both Problem 1 and Problem 2:

  • Code Location 1

  • Code Location 2

  • Code Location 3

  • Problem Set 1
