How to Setup Call Feature on the Intel® Unison™ App

Description

To set up the call feature on the Intel® Unison™ PC App, it is required a Bluetooth Hands-Free Profile (HFP) that enables users to make and receive voice calls.

Refer to What Are the System Requirements for the Intel® Unison™ App?

For the supported Intel® Wi-Fi 6 Bluetooth device, the latest Bluetooth driver, Intel® Unison™ PC, iOS, and Android version are important before setup call feature.

Resolution

Steps to select the call support that fits your needs

Click Settings icon (at the bottom of the left pane).

Click Messages & Calls (Android) | Calls (iOS).

Select call notification support:

  • To get incoming call notifications, enable to reply by SMS or dismiss the call.
  • To use a smartphone to answer or make calls.
  • When the Bluetooth headset is connected to the PC.

 

Select Full call support:

  • To get all the capabilities of incoming call notifications.
  • To use a PC to answer or make calls.
  • To use PC built-in high-quality microphone and speakers with default audio device settings.

Notes: If Bluetooth headset connected to PC. Intel® Unison™ PC App will prompt an alert of Bluetooth headset is connected to your PC. Intel Unison does not support calls while a Bluetooth headset is connected to your PC. Either connect the headset to your phone as well or disconnect from your PC. Use USB cable or USB dongle headset or switch to phone to make or answer calls.

 

To enable/disable incoming call Pop-up sound

Switch ON/OFF incoming call notifications will play a sound when the pop-up is displayed on your PC.

How to setup call feature on the Intel® Unison™ PC App

Select Calls > Show me how.

Click Send a request to phone (from Intel® Unison™ PC App).

Click Allow (from Android Phone).

Click Pair (from Intel® Unison™ PC App).

Check Allow access to your contacts and call history (from Android Phone).

Click Pair (from Android Phone).

Click Yes if both PINs are matched (from Intel® Unison™ PC App).

Click Close when the phone connection succeeded, then click Done (from Intel® Unison™ PC App).

Click Yes (from Android Phone) for a Message access request.

Click Send a request to phone (from Intel® Unison™ PC App).

Click GO TO SETTINGSAllow (from Android Phone).

Notes: If you click the Send request to phone button and there is no display on phone settings:

Open Intel® Unison™ phone app

Click Settings

Click Permission settings (for Android devices, the steps are similar but may vary with each device brand or model).

Switch On or Always Allow for Camera, Contacts, Phone, Photos and Videos, SMS/Messages, and Other Permissions.

 

To make a call

Click the Contact’s Call icon or use the Dialer Pane.

To answer the call, click Accept from the Call notification support pane.

Click Accept from the Full Call support pane.

Additional information

Check Bluetooth name is same for both PC and phone.

Switch OFF then ON for both PC and phone Bluetooth device settings.

Check both PC and phone status are Connected.

Check Intel® Unison™ PC App services are running.

Check Windows* Default apps settings
