How to Collect the Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) System Debug Log for Intel® Server Boards and Intel® Server Systems
- Follow the instructions in How to Configure the Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) for Remote Monitoring and Control for Intel® Server Boards and Intel® Server Systems
- From the client computer, open a browser and enter the static IP address from step 4 in the How do I configure the BMC? section. The BMC web console launches.
- Enter the user ID and password to access BMC web console.
- If user ID and Password are unknown - use article How to Configure the Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) for Remote Monitoring and Control for Intel® Server Boards and Intel® Server Systems.
- Go to System Diagnostics Page and click the Generate Log button. It may take some time for the debug information to be collected.
- After the debug log dump is finished, click the debug log file name to save the results as a *.zip file on the client system.
- For supported Intel Servers1, upload this file to System Debug Log Advisor to analyze possible issues.
Another option to generate BMC Debug is to follow the steps below:
- Download and install the System Configuration Utility (SYSCFG). This tool supports EFI, Linux*, and Windows*.
- Once installed, run this command: syscfg /sbmcdl public debuglogs.zip
