  1. Follow the instructions in How to Configure the Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) for Remote Monitoring and Control for Intel® Server Boards and Intel® Server Systems
  2. From the client computer, open a browser and enter the static IP address from step 4 in the How do I configure the BMC? section. The BMC web console launches.
  3. Enter the user ID and password to access BMC web console.
  4. If user ID and Password are unknown - use article How to Configure the Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) for Remote Monitoring and Control for Intel® Server Boards and Intel® Server Systems.

  5. Go to System Diagnostics Page and click the Generate Log button. It may take some time for the debug information to be collected.
  6. After the debug log dump is finished, click the debug log file name to save the results as a *.zip file on the client system.
  7. For supported Intel Servers1, upload this file to System Debug Log Advisor to analyze possible issues.

Another option to generate BMC Debug is to follow the steps below:

  1. Download and install the System Configuration Utility (SYSCFG). This tool supports EFI, Linux*, and Windows*.
  2. Once installed, run this command: syscfg /sbmcdl public debuglogs.zip

See the example below under Ubuntu* Operating System

  3. For supported Intel Servers1, upload this file to System Debug Log Advisor to analyze possible issues.

1The System Debug Log Advisor supports the following Intel® Servers:

  • M50CYP/D50TNP/D40AMP Family
  • S2600WF/S2600BP/S2600ST/M20MYP/S9200WK Family
