How to Determine Intel® Optane™ Memory Acceleration Is Enabled

Use one of the methods below to determine if Intel® Optane™ Memory is actively accelerating your system.

Method 1: Device Manager

  1. Open Device Manager.:
    1. Press the Windows key + x.
    2. Select the Device Manager option.
  2. Expand the Disk drives option.

The Device Manager shows the Intel® Optane™ Memory module as a storage volume, enabled for system acceleration. The drive noted after the + in the name of the Intel® Optane™ volume is the drive being accelerated. Right-click on the volume and select Properties to see more details about the volume.

Method 2: Intel® Optane™ Memory and Storage Management Application

  1. Open the Intel® Optane™ Memory and Storage Management application.
  2. Click the Manage tab.

Method 3: Windows* Scheduler

Note
  • This method is only available for 32GB or greater Intel® Optane™ Memory capacity modules.
  • This method is not available if system acceleration is enabled in Performance mode.
  1. Open Computer Management.
    1. Press the Windows key + x.
    2. Select the Computer Management option.
  2. Expand the System Tools option.
  3. Expand the Task Scheduler option.
  4. Expand the Task Scheduler Library folder.
  5. Click the Intel folder.
  6. Search for the Intel® Optane™ Memory task.

Method 4: Intel® Optane™ Memory User Interface

  1. Open the Intel® Optane™ Memory User Interface.
  2. Click the Setup tab.
