Overview
This package adds required system software on Linux* to help you take advantage of Intel® XPUs (CPUs, GPUs, and NPUs) by enabling OpenVINO™ AI plug-ins for GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program). 1
It provides a streamlined, one-step installation process to enable Stable Diffusion* 1.5 in GIMP. The installation process simplifies setup and enables AI PCs from Intel to be used for a wide variety of AI applications that run on the Ubuntu* 24.04 operating system.

How It Works
To download and install the package, see Get Started.
When installation starts, the package seamlessly configures your system to enable the AI plug-ins.
To configure your system, the package:
- Sets up OpenVINO toolkit and the AI plug-in.
- Installs necessary packages and drivers to access the full capabilities of the CPU, GPU, and NPU.
- Builds and installs GIMP.
After the automatic installation is complete, you should launch GIMP, navigate to the plug-ins section, and add the path to the OpenVINO toolkit AI plug-in. This step is essential for enabling the plug-in within GIMP. The system is now ready for AI use cases.
