Currently, Intel’s Gdańsk site is the largest R&D organization in Europe. focusing mainly on software – for instance, intended artificial intelligence accelerators, server platforms, graphics, and network cards. It is safe to say that the software created by engineers in Poland is used in Intel products available all over the world.
Community engagement and volunteering
Intel Poland’s staff is heavily involved in volunteering activities –employees spend about 9,000 hours on it during the year. Intel’s global goal is to spend 1,000,000 hours per year around the globe on giving back to the community with volunteering activities. In Poland, our effort is dedicated mainly to support STEM education; promote women and under-represented minorities into careers in STEM; promote racial equity and social justice; and support non-profit organizations focused on improving the quality of human life (i.e., food, safety, and shelter).
In Poland, enormous support was dedicated to Ukrainian refugees – in addition to dozens of other activities that were donated to, Intel Poland delivered 1100+ laptops to schools which welcomed Ukrainian students. This is just an example of many additional activities carried out by our company, like:
- IT for SHE - the industry leaders’ consortium in partnership with the Perspektywy Education Foundation aims to help talented women studying IT majors enter the job market.
- New Technologies for Girls - In partnership with the Perspektywy Education Foundation. The first Polish scholarship program for young talented women who see their future in the ICT industry.
- Intel® AI for Youth Program - is a comprehensive AI readiness study program that aims to equip young people (ages 13~19) with AI technological and social skills in an inclusive way. Intel® AI for Youth Program was launched in 2019 and is currently available across 24 countries worldwide.
