SANTA CLARA, Calif., June 23, 2003 - Intel Corporation today introduced a new version of the Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor with Hyper-Threading (HT) Technology** at 3.2 GHz. Pentium 4 processor-based PCs and Intel® Xeon™-based servers with HT technology are now available across a range of mainstream and performance system price points.

Consumers using computers powered by Intel's newest processor will be able to more quickly edit their digital music, photos and movies, often doing two of these activities simultaneously without sacrificing performance. What is Hyper-Threading Technology?
HT Technology allows software to "see" two processors instead of one. Software applications can be written to have multiple pieces of code called "threads" take advantage of this technology. First introduced on server and workstations, HT technology allows the desktop PC's processor to work on two separate threads at the same time, improving performance when two or more applications are run simultaneously.
