Intel Enhances Value PC Processor Line
SANTA CLARA, Calif., July 2, 2001 - Intel Corporation today released two new Intel® Celeron® processors. The desktop Intel Celeron at 900 MHz is Intel's fastest offering for the price-sensitive desktop value PC market segment. The mobile Intel Celeron processor at 850 MHz is optimized for full-size and thin and light notebook designs, providing leading performance at attractive price points.
Intel Celeron processors include design features such as 128 KB of on-chip, level-two cache with a high-bandwidth interface to the processor core. The Intel Celeron processor line continues to lead the value PC market segment worldwide.
In 1,000-unit quantities, the desktop Intel Celeron processor at 900 MHz costs $103. Desktop Intel Celeron processors are now available at 900, 850 and 800 MHz (all with the 100 MHz system bus), as well as at 766 and 733 MHz.
In 1,000-unit quantities, the mobile Intel Celeron processor at 850 MHz costs $134. Mobile Intel Celeron processors are now available at 850, 800, 750 and 700 MHz (all with the 100 MHz system bus).
