Lights, Camera, Action: Intel Play Digital Movie Creator Extends PC Experience

Intel Toy Inspires Children to Script and Star in Their Own Home Movies

NEW YORK, Feb.11, 2001 -- Intel Corporation will showcase the Intel® Play™ Digital Movie Creator, the latest addition to its popular line of Intel Play PC-enhanced toys, at the 2001 American International Toy Fair at the Jacob Javits Center (Booth #4342), Feb. 11-15.

The Intel Play Digital Movie Creator is an easy-to-use digital video camera and movie-making software package that allows children to use the PC to script and star in their own feature movies. It is the company's latest product to extend the value and utility of powerful PCs, like ones based on the Intel® Pentium® 4 processor.

"At a price of under $100, the Intel Play Digital Movie Creator is an exciting addition to our line of PC entertainment products. It promises to provide children with endless hours of creative and open-ended play as they record their own feature movies starring themselves, their family and friends," said Jeff Abbate, business segment manager, Intel Play toys.

The Intel Play Digital Movie Creator inspires children to create feature movies using tools like the pros. Designed for children ages eight and older, the Intel Play Digital Movie Creator invites children to direct, film, star in and edit their own movies - all with the power of their PCs.

Children can capture up to 2,000 snapshots and an unprecedented four minutes of video and audio away from the PC - enough footage to turn a child into a producer or an on-location news reporter.

Children can enhance their personal video footage with a full library of titles, special effects, transitions and creative sound files. Children can then share their memorable movie creations, preview "first screenings" on the computer with friends and family, or share them via e-mail over the Internet.

The Intel Play Digital Movie Creator will be available in Fall of 2001 for an estimated retail price of $99. Minimum system requirements include: desktop or notebook PC running an Intel Pentium processor at 266 MHz (or faster) and 64 MB of RAM; USB connection; sound card; 4X CD-ROM; and Windows* 98, 98 SE, Millennium Edition or Windows 2000.

The Intel® Play™ Computer Sound Morpher is an affordable and easy-to-use toy that includes a detachable microphone, allowing children to record sounds and voices while away from the PC. The Computer Sound Morpher comes with creative audio morphing, mixing and editing software. Once voices or sounds have been downloaded to the PC, children can use this software to mix, morph and even animate their personal recordings in wild and wacky ways. The manufacturer's suggested retail price for the Intel Play Computer Sound Morpher is $49.99.

The Intel® Play™ Me2Cam™ Virtual Game System with Fun Fair CD-ROM is an interactive PC-based gaming system that allows children to see themselves within a virtual gaming world. The Me2Cam recognizes and reacts to children's body movements, allowing them to virtually ski down a mountain, dance to music or play pinball. The manufacturer's suggested retail price for the Intel Play Me2Cam is $69.99.

The Intel Play line debuted in 1999 with the Intel® Play™ QX3* Computer Microscope. This award-winning toy inspires children's curiosity and creativity by allowing them to magnify and display microscopic objects on their PC monitors for everyone to see.

Using the PC, kids can study objects and capture them as images, video or time-lapse movies and then send them to friends and family via e-mail. The manufacturer's suggested retail price for the Intel Play QX3 Computer Microscope is $99.
