Intel Opens Office in Pakistan
Mr. Mohsin Iqbal Appointed as the New Country Manager; Committed to Better Serve the Pakistan Computer Market
KARACHI, Pakistan, Sept. 17, 1997 – Intel Corporation, the world's largest chip maker, announced the opening of a marketing and sales office in Pakistan, Intel Pakistan Corp. It also announced the appointment of Mr Mohsin Iqbal as country manager.
"Establishing an office in Pakistan reflects our commitment to better serve the computer market as well as our customers and the IT industry there," said Sean Maloney, vice president and general manager of Intel Asia Pacific. "Personal computers have become very important to people in all walks of life and Intel technology is at the heart of most of those systems."
Intel's objectives in opening a marketing and sales office in Pakistan is to ensure that the latest IT information is available to those who are buying, selling or manufacturing computers, thus enabling people to make informed computer investments. Additionally, through its Intel Inside® program and other marketing activities, the company will work with the computer industry, locally and internationally, to promote the quality and value of computers based on Intel's latest computing technology, and to ensure that those available in Pakistan are equivalent to those available in any market, worldwide.

Newly appointed country manager for Intel Pakistan and native Pakistani, Mohsin Iqbal said, "We want to enable adoption of the latest computing technology such as the Pentium® II processor and Pentium® processor with MMX™ media enhancement technology-based systems are available in Pakistan. The company will also be launching networking products and a range of video conferencing products based on ProShare® technology to enhance the computing environment.
