Why am I seeing RX PTP accuracy results which are greater than specified with the F-tile Ethernet Intel® Hard FPGA IP with PTP enabled ?

Environment

  • Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition
  • BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
    Description

Due to a problem in the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 23.1, the RX PTP accuracy results can be larger than specified when asserting the tx_reset of the F-tile Ethernet Intel® Hard FPGA IP with PTP enabled by itself.

    Resolution

To work around this problem, ensure that you assert tx_reset and rx_reset together.
This problem will be fixed in a future release of the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software.
